Why Balanced Minds?
Children (along with adults) struggle to create a healthy balanced mind while navigating the ups and downs life throws at us. Regulating emotions through this process can be tricky. All emotions however are so extremely important and are trying to tell us something. It is therefore important to learn how to read our own emotions and what to do with them.

Our goal at Balanced Minds Play Therapy is to teach and help children understand that every emotion they have is valid and accepted. This is accomplished by allowing a child to express themselves using their natural language, play.

Toys act as the unspoken words of a child’s inner thoughts, feelings and experiences. This, combined with a safe space, the therapeutic relationship and the skills of a qualified therapeutic play practitioner, allows a child to communicate what is happening in their world.

This is the first step in helping children accept, understand and regulate their emotions and experiences in their world and as a result, helps maintain their truly balanced and playful mind.
